From Cortina to Averau

Ascend 14 km up the SR 48 (Passo Falzarego) as far as Cianzopè, where there is a left turning, down and then up, to the Cinque (5) Torri. A very steep surfaced road leads up to the Scoiattoli hut. A trail then continues steeply uphill to the Forcella Nuvolao and the Averau hut, at 2,416 m. A technical and challenging descent comes next, to the Fedare hut; then a road ascent to Passo Giau (2,236 m) and then the sweeping descent with spectacular views to Peziè de Paru. Return to Cortina turning right into the trail – very steep in sections – that passes Cason del Macaron, Lago Ajal and Mortija
