Monaci delle Terre Nere is a certified eco-wine resort extending over 25 hectares. Its vineyards, fruit orchards, herb garden and lush greenery are there for guests to enjoy during their stay and at their complete disposal. Built following the principles of sustainability, the estate relies on solar panels for 70% of the energy it needs to operate.
Guests can experience a high variety of activities while staying at Monaci delle Terre Nere,

The Wine Tasting is curated and conducted by our expert Sommelier, who guides you through the flavours of Etna via the region’s most notable indigenous grapes: Nerello Mascalese and Carricante. The wine tasting includes five own-produced Guido Coffa wines, accompanied by homemade bread and extra virgin olive oil, the latter also produced in the estate!
During the Cooking Class, the Chef will guide you through the discovery of all the secrets of homemade pasta with old Sicilian wheat. This activity is perfect for those who want to live a traditional experience where they will learn how to prepare the signature dish of Italian cuisine and also some useful tricks for perfect results at home. And of course, at the end of the class you will get to taste your own pasta and be your own judge while sipping on a glass of wine.
The Cocktail Masterclass is an interactive experience with a unique structure; starting with a walk through the aromatic herb garden, the expert mixologists will accompany you from the
harvest to the transformation of the raw materials, right up to the cocktail making part. A unique journey where you will unravel the secrets of mixology and be the artist of your own drink from start to finish.
Wellness Area
The wellness corner is the ideal place for a relaxing massage to wind down after a day out on an excursion of Mount Etna organized by the concierge team or perhaps after enjoying a day of horse riding. For the more adventurous, there is also the possibility to take off on a helicopter tour over Etna directly from the estate, which hosts a helipad. The more active guests can end their day with a yoga class to stretch the muscles and absorb the energy of the volcano and of the natural surroundings. Bike rental is also available at the property, as well as the organization of bike tours in the surrounding Etna regions. The estate features two restaurants.
The indoor restaurant Locanda Nerello follows the Slow Food movement and offers delicious dishes prepared with locally produced, seasonal ingredients by the Executive Chef Salvo Sardo.
The Pool Bar & Restaurant is located by the swimming pool and offers stunning sea views.
Its light lunch and rich drinks menus are specifically thought for the guests to be enjoyed on warm summer days.
The Convivium Bar is a little gem located inside the 18th-century manor house.
It embodies a truly unique style, combining the ancient structure with modern features. The drinks menu offers a large variety of cocktails, each one carefully studied by our mixologists to have a “Monaci” twist.
The 25-hectare property hosts 24 signature suites and villas scattered around the estate,
immersed in lush greenery and surrounded by the estate’s vineyards. Each room features Italian furniture and is carefully designed to combine the antique original structures with modern and original elements, such as the characteristic lava stone walls, which convey a truly unique style.
All of the rooms feature en-suite bathroom with shower or bathtub, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers, bathroom amenities, fireplace, desk, complimentary Wi-Fi, Bose Bluetooth speakers, in-room telephone, air conditioning, in-room safe, minibar, tea/coffee machine.
The Deluxe Rooms
are elegantly furnished and located in different parts of the estate, from 100 to 400m from the main building. They are ideal for those who look for comfort as well as enchanting views and privacy. They have private, furnished patios or gardens that are perfect for relaxing afternoons surrounded by nature, and offer views of the Mediterranean Sea and the vineyards of the estate.
The two Junior Suites
are different from one another, according to the authentic Monaci’s style in which every single room is unique. From 40 to 50sqm, either with a patio and a private garden overlooking the Sea or with a view over the oak forest with access to one of the Estate’s Private pool, the Junior Suite conveys authenticity and a true character.
The Estate Suites
embrace the real Monaci spirit and style. They are the biggest of the suites and, with their spacious and comfortable interiors extending from 45 to 60sqm, can accommodate up to four people. Interesting features like a private terrace, traditional lava-stone walls or sloping wood-beamed ceilings make the Estate Suite a unique, warm and welcoming room.
The Pool Villas
are a beacon of comfort, privacy and tranquility. They are the ultimate private villas, with private pool and gardens; they are the result of an accurate restoration of old rural buildings following the principles of bio architecture; they are completely detached from the main building of Monaci delle Terre Nere, at about 300mt from it.
