From the Castle, go down to Buttrio and continue towards Caminetto and the charming medieval village of Manzinello. After crossing the bridge over the Torre Torrent you will arrive in Percoto, whose beautiful historic houses overlook the main street, and then continue towards the charming village of Popertiacco and the nearby villa Ronchi. A little further on you will find the official Alpe Adria Cycle Route (FVG 1) route which will lead you to Palmanova, passing through some villages with characteristic Friulian rural houses and numerous Venetian villas. After visiting the UNESCO World Heritage city of Palmanova, continue south through the enchanting medieval village of Strassoldo, Cervignano and then on to the city of Aquileia, also a UNESCO World Heritage site, renowned on account of its rich historical remains. Beyond Palmanova you will find the Grado lagoon, which may be traversed thanks to the enchanting cycle path surrounded by water. The route ends in the beautiful historic and tourist town of Grado. From here you may return by retracing the proposed route backwards or opt for a transfer with a minivan equipped for bike transport (e.g. Taxi Roby http://www.taxiroby.it/).
