Trentino by Bike

Ideal destination for those who want to climb, but also offer many beautiful cycle paths for everyone. Its medieval castles are beautiful, such as Castel Tirolo, Castel Roncolo and Castel d’Appiano.

Right from here starts a bike path in the splendid setting of the Dolomites, a section of the Italian Alps known for its jagged limestone peaks.
Trento is also worth visiting on two wheels in search of Renaissance palaces and the Buonconsiglio Castle, home of art collections.

Vallagarina

The first stretch of the Adige Valley, from the Venetian plain to Trentino, takes the name of Vallagarina.
Land of vineyards and castles, historic cities and ancient villages, enshrines art treasures and spectacular views in the shadow of the mountains that flank it, which deserve to be discovered calmly and carefully.

The valley is crossed by the Adige cycle path, also called Via Claudia Augusta because it follows the road that the Roman legions traveled to the Danube.
It is 30 kilometers from Rovereto to Trento. It starts from the center of Rovereto, goes through Borgo Sacco, known for the Palio delle Zattere and from here you will start the bike path that takes you through several fortifications representing the history of these beautiful places.
For example, after a few kilometers from Rovereto, Castel Beseno can be seen looking upwards.

The Val di Non

The Valle di Non is named all over the world for the cultivation of apples, the famous Golden Delicious, the first DOP brand granted for a product in the fruit sector.
But it is also a land of “bears”: reintroduced starting in 1996 with the Life Ursus project, and Tovel Valley is the area where they were released, one of the most spectacular and solitary places in the Non Valley, just below Pian della Nana in the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park.

Why do we talk about it? Because the Pian is a wonderful plateau at over 2,000 meters above sea level, at the foot of the peaks of the Sasso Rosso and dell’Uomo, a real paradise for riders starting from Cles towards Mount Peller.

The Paganella

You cannot miss the bike trails in the scenery of the Brenta Dolomites and Paganella.
The Piccolo Dolomiti Resort is the ideal starting point for many tours that can be ende when you are back with spas, massages and typical products of the area cooked in a healthy and tasty way by the hotel chefs.

If you dare you can experience some thrills on two wheels along the Willy Wonka trail. It is an intermediate level flow trail within the Andalo Zone, starting at the intermediate station of the “Paganella 2001” Andalo – Doss Pelà cable car and arriving in the center of Andalo.
The canyon section is beautiful: for mtb, medium difficulty, duration 30 minutes, length 4 km, slope 355 meters.

If you are a “real” cyclist, you must try the seven-hour route from the Dolomites to Lake Garda, an excursion that will give you unforgettable emotions.
During the 106 km you cross the Ballino pass and return from the cycle path inside the Limarò gorge. Slope 1,955 meters, for racing bikes.

Valsugana cycle path

400 kilometers of cycle paths from the Dolomites to Garda, with an incredible variety of routes. Let’s take some examples?
Val di Fassa – Val di Fiemme cycle path, 42 kilometers; Val di Sole cycle path, 34 kilometers; … And then the Valsugana cycle path. 52 kilometers, also called the Via del Brenta.

From Valsugana reaching the province of Vicenza (Veneto), running alongside the path of the Brenta river for long stretches.
There isn’t a particular elevation and it is ideal for all types of cyclists. About half of the route winds on secondary roads open to traffic, but with a very low traffic.

It takes its name from San Vigilio, bishop and patron saint of Trento, who, according to legend, covered it in his work of evangelization.
It connects Trento to Madonna di Campiglio, the Adige Valley to the Brenta Dolomites, along alternative routes that lead from the city to the mountains. The route along the ancient Roman road is about 100 kilometers from the Trento Cathedral to Sopramonte and then passes Due Laghi – San Lorenzo in Banale – Saone – Caderzone Terme – Madonna di Campiglio.

The uphill elevation is 3,772 meters, downhill 2,454 meters. There is an alternative route that passes through Monte Terlago-Vallene and Larzana di Montagne, 109.8 km, with uphill gradients of 4,729 meters and downhill of 3,411 meters.
