Cycling in the Dolomites: a 6-days itinerary in Alta Badia

Cycling in the heart of the Dolomites is an emotion that is worth feeling, so we suggest the bike tour organized by Italy Cycling Tour (italycyclingtour.it), partner of Luxury Bike Hotels.

The tour takes place in Alta Badia, a tourist area in South Tyrol that attracts travelers from all over the world, both in summer and in winter.

The first day of the itinerary includes the arrival in Corvara, the largest center of the Val Badia, a well-known ski resort. Corvara is the ideal starting point for the bike tour and it’s also the perfect place to relax in the hotel at the end of the daily tour.

The second day is dedicated to the most enchanting routes between South Tyrol and Veneto: Arabba, the Livinallongo valley through the Campolongo Pass and then to the Falzarego Pass.

The itinerary even includes the Valparola Pass, one of the most fascinating places in the Alps, and the hamlet of San Cassiano. The length of the bike tour is 50 km.

The third day is focused on the Sellaronda, the ski tour around the great Sella massif, but in this case you will climb by bike on the Pordoi Pass passing the Sella Pass, the Gardena Pass and finally you will reach the Campolongo Pass and then return to Corvara. The planned stops allow you to admire the breathtaking landscapes of the Dolomites, a natural show you shouldn’t miss.

The route of the fourth day is aimed at the more experienced bikers, as it consists of steep climbs and challenging descents of the valleys of the Ladin Dolomites, Val di Fassa, Val Gardena, the Marmolada glacier and the Fedaia Pass.

The fifth day includes the arrival at the top of the Giau Pass: from Arabba you reach the hamlet of Colle Santa Lucia, from where you start the climb to Giau Pass. The breathtaking view is a reward for the effort made.

Afterwards, descend to Pocol and then go up along the Falzarego Pass and finally return to Corvara. The length of the route is 82 km.

The sixth day is scheduled for departure after breakfast and there is the possibility, for those who can stay longer, to visit Cortina for shopping. This bike tour is available from June 15th to September 28th and is also suitable for families or groups of friends who like cycling routes.

What to see in the Dolomites on bike

Alta Badia is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful destinations to explore by bike, so we suggest it to those looking for the next destination for their holidays.
